Lo- To identify the features on a magazine front cover; to explore genre codes and conventions. 

Magazine Front Covers 

Masthead- title, top of the cover.

Dateline - a line at the top of the magazine stating when it was wrote.

Main image- an illustration in the middle of what is inside the magazine 

Cover lines- a text at the bottom of the magazine briefly describing and promoting the content.

Main cover line- a headline on the front cover of a magazine advertising a story or feature inside.

bar code/ price- applied to products for quick identification

tagline- a short memorable phrase. 

pull quotes- a brief, attention-catching quotation taken from the main text of an article and used as a subheading or graphic feature.
